But what caught the eye of a lot of fans on social media was how Mbappe was treated almost like a king, with heightened security including troops of security personnel and an APC as he travelled the country.
The visit was Mbappe’s first to Cameroon since he was a teenager. The forward also visited his father Wilfred’s village on Djelabe island.
During his visit, Mbappe received a hero’s welcome when he landed in Yaounde.
According to a report in Concord News, around 100 traditional dancers performed in his honour.

During his time, Mbappe was seen interacting with young kids and giving glimpses of himself to fans from a distance before being whisked away in an SUV with tinted windows.
He was accompanied by a security detail that included police officers, soldiers, and private security guards.
