Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan failed to capitalise on his solid start as he departed in the 12th over after a 21-ball 20 off the bowling of seamer Graham Hume to leave the Tigers at 51 for the loss of three in the first ODI of the three-match series between Bangladesh and Ireland at Chelmsford in England on Tuesday.
Shakib, who hit four boundaries, looked to be aggressive from the onset but that eventually led to his demise when stepped forward and tried to heave a good-length delivery across the line. The ball slightly nipped in off the surface and the left-handed batter missed it completely only to see the ball hit timber.
Tawhid Hridoy came in at four after Shakib’s dismissal.
