Rupali Bank win Women’s DPL

Rupali Bank Krira Parishad clinched the Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket League beating defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club in a 53-run win at the BKSP-3 Ground in Savar today. 

The last round match turned out to be a final between the two sides as Mohammedan, prior to the contest, stood at the top of the table with 13 points from seven games, while Rupali Bank was in second with 12.

Chasing 197 runs posted by Rupali Bank, Mohammedan were bundled out for 143 in 44.2 overs. 

Rupali Bank’s Ritu Moni was the pick of the bowlers for Rupali as she bagged three wickets, while Dipa Khatun scalped two to knock the wind out of Mohammedan’s sails.

Ayesha Rahman top-scored with 71-ball 46 for Mohammedan but no other batter could make an impression.

Earlier, Rupali Bank’s Indian recruit Mukta Ravindra Magre top-scored with a 90-ball 69 with the help of six fours, and Tazia Akhter added 36 runs after being sent to bat first.

Off-spinner Khadija Tul Kubra bagged four wickets, while skipper Salma Khatun took three for Mohammedan.
