All three openers in the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan faced injury scare during the training session today.
Tamim Iqbal showed signs of feeling some pain on his back during a fielding exercise. He was leaving for the dressing after that. Tamim had recently been ruled out of the lone Test against Afghanistan due to back pain.
Other opener Liton Das also suffered some pain while batting. A delivery from a thrower hit Liton on his hand and the visibly frustrated right-hander took his frustration out on the stumps behind him before walking out of the nets.
Bangladesh’s physio spoke to Liton before the batter returned to the dressing room, still feeling some pain.
Mohammad Naim, the backup opener also got hit by a delivery above his knee. He did, however, continue batting after that.
A source close to the team management informed that neither Tamim nor Liton’s injury were serious. Naim showed no signs of pain after ending his batting session.
