Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das had a rather modest outing with the bat on Friday but still his GT20 Canada side Surrey Jaguars managed to make it to the final after beating Vancouver Knights by 38 runs in Qualifier 1 in Brampton.
After playing a match-winning 59-run knock in their previous game, Liton could only manage 16 off 19 deliveries, featuring a boundary and a six, as Surrey Jaguars posted 139 for nine after being asked to bat.
However, West Indies’ Matthew Forde turned things around with the ball in hand as he returned impressive figures of four for 16 in 2.4 overs to bundle out Vancouver Knights for 101 in 16.4 overs and help Surrey Jaguars to a convincing win.
Liton and Co will play the final against the winner of Qualifier 2 on August 6.
