Experienced cricketers Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed were not included in the preliminary squad of the Bangladesh women’s national team for the upcoming home series against India next month.
Another experienced cricketer Salma Khatun however makes a comeback to the side after being dropped from the previous Sri Lanka series as the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the 20-member squad.
Bangladesh will take part in the three match T20I series scheduled to begin from July 9 where the visitors will also play three match ODI series which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
The newly appointed selectors Sazzad Ahmed Shipon and Sajal Chowdhury opted to drop Jahanara after the pacer had a lead patch in the last Sri Lanka series. Rumana on the other hand also remained below par and was dropped from the last Sri Lanka series.
