The BCB Combined School U-16 team were in a strong position at the end of day one of the second three-day game at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana today with Shaikh Imtiaz bagging a fifer.
Having shone in the first three-day game, he bagged five wickets against Mumbai U-16 side today to bowl the hosts out for 214 in 84.5 overs.
BCB’s school team reached 3 for the loss of one wicket at close of play. Medium pacer Mohammad Sobuj struck for the visitors early in the fifth over and ended the day with two wickets. Shamiul Islam, the other medium pacer also ended with two wickets.
Opener Aniket Singh’s patient 196-ball 48 and Raza Mirza’s 56 off 164 deliveries saw the hosts reach 214 all out. Imtiaz, who is a leg-spinner, bowled 20 overs, conceding 36 runs on his way to five wickets. The BCB combined school side clinched the first three-day game by an innings and 174 runs at the same ground.
