Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim notched up his 44th ODI half-century to help the Tigers motor towards a competitive total against Ireland as the Tigers managed 214 runs for the loss of six wickets at the end of the 44-over mark in the first ODI of the three-match series at Chelmsford in England on Tuesday.

Mushfiqur hit five fours as he reached the milestone in 62 balls while stitching a 65-run stand with Mehedi Hasan Miraz, who fell to George Dockrell after scoring a 34-ball 27.

Mushfiqur now holds the key with six overs left in the innings as he is the only recognised batter in the middle, with Taijul Islam batting at the other end.
