Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and batter Liton Das failed to make an impact with the bat as Galle Titans succumbed to a 34-run loss against B-Love Kandy in the second Qualifier of the Lanka Premier League at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.
Chasing Kandy’s 158, opener Liton managed a 19-ball 25, while Shakib scored 15-ball 17 as Galle were restricted to 123 for eight.
Liton was castled by Chaturanga de Silva in the fifth over when he tried to sweep, while Shakib perished in the 12th over when he tried a slog sweep against Sahan Arachchige.
Shakib, however, put in an economical effort with the ball, picking up the scalp of Arachchige while giving away 24 runs from his full quota.
