Surrey Jaguars batter Liton Das couldn’t make his presence felt in the grand finale of the GT20 Canada against Montreal Tigers as he managed a 13-ball 12 as Surrey succumbed to a dramatic five-wicket defeat at the CAA Centre on Sunday.
Liton put away a solitary boundary before being castled by UAE left-arm spinner Ayan Afzal Khan in the 11th over as Surrey posted 130 for five on the back of an unbeaten 57-ball 56 by opener Jatinder Singh after being put into bat first.
A 29-ball 38 from Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell’s blistering six-ball 20 helped Montreal clinch the title.
