After Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das, another Bangladesh cricketer, Afif Hossain, will take part in the Global T20 League in Canada.
Chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Cricket Operations committee Jalal Yunus confirmed that Afif was given no objection certificate (NOC) and the cricketer is set to fly for Canada to take part in the league on Sunday.
Afif will feature for Surrey Jaguars alongside Liton. If the team does not qualify for the play-off stage, the left-handed batter will only get to play the remaining two group matches.
Tigers’ Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who featured for Montreal Tigers in the Global T20 League, however will leave for Sri Lanka today to take part in the Lankan Premier League.
Surrey is currently at number three position in the points table, with the next two matches scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. The final is scheduled for August 6.
Bangladesh team’s skill camp for the upcoming Asia Cup is set to begin from August 8 following a fitness camp, which will get underway tomorrow.
Although both Afif and Liton will miss the fitness camp, the duo is expected to join the skill camp.
Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim and Taskin Ahmed will return after featuring in Zim-Afro T10 League and is set to join the camp. But pacer Shoriful Islam and Shakib will join the camp later since both cricketer will feature in the LPL.
Another young cricketer Towhid Hridoy was also roped in by Jaffna Kings in the LPL, however, the cricketer will only feature for the first three games of the tournament.
